Secrets to Thriving in Babylon

In the book of Daniel, God’s servant was taken into exile to Babylon by King Nebuchadnezzar. The Lord encourages the exiles in Jeremiah 29,

“Build houses and settle down; plant gardens and eat what they produce. Marry and have sons and daughters; find wives for your sons and give your daughters in marriage, so that they too may have sons and daughters. Increase in number there; do not decrease. Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.”

In other words, “Thrive in Babylon!”

The first few chapters of Daniel teaches ways to live in a “Babylonian” culture that is against Godly beliefs.

Following those principles, Secrets to Thriving in Babylon offers practical secrets to thriving in any workplace. God’s simple and actionable ways for His children to survive and thrive while living and working in a culture that doesn’t follow the teachings of Christ are uncovered.

    Wise and Funny
“This book is for any Christian who has become discouraged and frustrated working for a boss or a company that doesn't follow the beliefs of Christ. As a Christian who is not in leadership position at work, finding a way to follow God's Word while reporting to a boss whose actions often violate biblical teaching frequently leave me feeling defeated and wondering how God could allow such chaos. Using easy to understand humorous stories straight from the Bible, this book gave me practical advice on how to prosper at work while honoring Christ's teachings. Fortified by this book's simple suggestions on how to remain obedient to God's teaching while working in a non-Christian environment, I expect my work hours will soon become less stressful and unhappy and more joyful and productive.”

"This book gives excellent pointers on how to, not just survive, but thrive in the workplace. Even though I personally am considered an independent contractor and no longer have "a boss" the teachings and explanations I've read here can still be used in my life. We all answer to someone, but if our first priority in all things is knowing who our real employer is, and make sure our faith and trust is in Him, our actions in and reactions to our everyday life will be earth's greatest blessing."

    Fantastic Book
"This book had a lot of practical advice . It emphasized the value of education, not to seek rewards for doing right, and not to show anger. My favorite piece of advise was to be a witness, not an enforcer."
