“To Fear God”

The Bible says, “The fear of God is the beginning of all wisdom” (Proverbs 9:10). But we are also called to love God. How can we love and fear God? By understanding what godly fear is. The Bible says, “To fear God is to hate evil” (Proverbs 8:13). Now that’s easy to understand. So what does God hate? The Bible tells us, “He hates pride and arrogance, evil behavior, perverse speech” (Proverbs 8:13)…“haughty eyes, a lying tongue, the murder of the innocent, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, gossip, and even a person that separates the body of Christ” (Proverbs 6:16-19). So let us reveal our godly wisdom by turning away from the evil that God hates. Then, the world will see His Love and turn to Him.
